It's a traditional ritual of far northern people which they generally refer to as 'Ōrospū Cocuu' (you can Google this term up) this ritual's main purpose is to have a transcendental soul state and connect with the ancestors and the spirit of the fire (which is why they're throwing shards of bones onto the fire for) . This ritual's side purpose is that babies should adapt to these customs at a very young age and shamans often tell the parents of the babies' prophecies and where he/she will be in life.

In fact about 60% Finnish males still belong to Haplogroup N which is the paternal lineage marker shared by all Uralic speaking peoples, including 100% of the Nenets and Nganasan. Finns, Saami and Estonians have mixed with indigenous European women for thousands of years hence they look almost completely European now. Haplogroup N likely originated in the area of southern Siberia

They all share home in Siberia, but these people are Samoyeds of the Uralic language family. They are more closely related to Selkups and Nenets west of them.
